Our security system is easy to use with features that give you and your family peace of mind. Motion sensors, door sensors, and window sensors all provide protection from intruders. Smoke sensors and flood sensors will help alert you and your family in emergency situations.

The lobby of The RuMa Hotel is pretty well-designed and gives a warm vibe. As you enter, you’ll pass through a foyer with a bamboo installation. Enjoy rates starting from 10% off our Best Available Rate and enjoy additional benefits when you stay between Friday and Sunday. Apparently it is located at the first level, next to SEVEN. If any, it has more café vibe rather than library vibe.

The RuMa Special – Weekends

Like the bell-crew, the reception staff were warm and welcoming. A great feature of The Ruma is its 24-hour check-in/check-out service, i.e. you can check-in and check-out any time you wish. I imagine this would be especially handy for travellers with a late-night flight – you can keep your room until you leave for the airport in the evening. The SEVEN lobby bar and lounge is a quiet bar located near the entrance of the hotel, next to the spiral staircase.

There were normal carpark lots and there were mechanical carpark lots. When we arrived, all the normal lots were taken, so we had to park at the parking lot that’s fitted with mechanical parking system. If you are in downtown KL, check into the Executive Room, Horizon Club Room or Executive Suite — the last two inclusive of lounge access — for nine hours of use between 8am and 8pm.

Check-In

My Mum and I were in total agreement about the top-notch service, the stunning design and the terrific food at Atas Restaurant. If you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur and you’re looking for a luxurious yet homely experience at a five-star hotel, check out The Ruma and Residences. The check-in process began with a refreshing traditional Malaysian drink with a modern twist.

So, here’s my quest to find out if I indeed feel like home at The RuMa Hotel. Opened in 2018, The RuMa Hotel and Residences is located right within the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Pavilion mall is just 600m (9-min) walk away and KLCC aka the Twin Towers is just 800m away from the hotel. With much of the workforce avoiding clustering in offices and home not always the most conducive environment to dig deep and deliver, the search is on for new places to which to lug laptops.

Transform Living In Your Home A Whole New Experience

The connection is unwavering from any corner and allows for unlimited device links while well-placed plug points all around the room enable you to move around freely with a laptop. HDMI connectivity and mirroring of both iOS and Android devices onto the TV allow for large-screen displays of downloads or video conferencing (or Netflix — guilty). We had the choice of sitting at the bar/lounge or in the Librari . The bartender was an expert cocktail maker and entertained us with stories and information about the hotel and the KLCC district.

Set the mood in your home with the perfect lighting. Our lighting system can be programmed for manual or automatic use. Morning mode slowly turns up the lights so getting up in the morning is easier. Goodnight mode turns off all lights and sets the alarm so you sleep more soundly. Control inside and outside lighting from your phone, making your home a safer place to come home to late at night.

Business Hours

This floor houses an infinity pool and deck, a bar/lounge, a gym and the Ur Spa. It’s a beautiful, airy space and I especially loved the cocoon-like furniture. The gym is well-equipped but the pool is quite small. The desk and city view. The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous, featuring beautiful stand-alone copper sinks and a separate bath/shower corner with a city view.

Here, there are hundreds of restaurants and cafes, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

My favorite feature is that I can filter the pricelist by “free breakfast” because I wanted to have breakfast at ATAS. Subject to availability, any of the 253 rooms and suites can be booked for the four-hour “Work from Home, Away from Home” package. Check in at the reception and make your way up to a serene sanctuary, where you can work undisturbed with all the luxuries of home — or more. Several months into the Covid-19 pandemic, the allure of work-from-home might have dulled, but the demands march on relentlessly. Before driving your car out of carpark, go to receptionist and get your physical parking ticket validated. Then, at the carpark, validate your ticket again at the machine near the carpark exit. If there’s any problem of exiting, simply press the intercom to speak with operator. For us, we drove to the hotel with our family’s car. The traffic around KLCC can be pretty insane during peak period, so try not lose your cool. When I first heard the word “RuMa” I immediately thought of home, because in Malay & Indonesian language, rumah means home.

You can’t go to Malaysia without eating nasi lemak, so I did what I had to do. Gloves are provided for guests to maintain hygiene at the buffet spread. Because the pool is not at the rooftop, the view is obstructed by the surrounding apartment and office buildings. You can also see Twin Towers in the distance, partially blocked by 45-storey glass-cladded Permata Sapura Tower.

If restaurant dining is not your thing, you can walk a little further to Jalan Alor where you’ll find plenty of street food. The porridge section comes with a bowl of piping hot porridge and various porridge condiments, such as spring onion, fried onion, boiled egg, shredded chicken, soya sauce and sesame oil. As a porridge lover, I think there is room for improvement. I’m the type of person who prefers savory porridge; I was hoping the condiments could give umami to the porridge, but nope they didn’t. You can enjoy the views from the bathroom window when taking a bath, but, personally I’m worried that others can see me from the outside.
